Was going to buy this set, but decided not to when Samsung confirmed there is no headphone jack.
Many people need to be considerate to others in the same household or to neighbors. The jack has been standard equipment that prevented noise pollution when that was appropriate. There is no excuse for Samsung (and LG)to skimp a few dollars like this on a $1000+ product. It would be much better to have this function than a silly red tinge along the rim!

Samsung suggests the workaround of buying an adapter between its RCA audio output jacks and a headphone set. They were not very convincing about whether there was enough voltage coming out of the RCA jacks to drive a headphone and said there is NO automatic muting of the speakers when the RCA audio output is used. That's just stupid.
